About our classes

What Class is Right for Your Kiddo?

Our youth classes are organized according to age range.

Join us with your little one for playful exploration on circus equipment! Under the guidance of our expert instructors, you and your tot will play, sing, and move together while building balance, coordination, and the ability to follow simple directions. It’s all about celebrating the fun of movement in a safe, creative environment.

Prerequisites: None! Just bring your kiddo and their grown-up.

Important: A parent or guardian must participate in class with their child.

Ready to see what they can do on their own? Preschoolers explore circus equipment independently while learning to follow directions, share, and work with others. This class is perfect for the age when kids are testing their limits and discovering their confidence through play and movement.

Prerequisites: Students must be able to participate independently without a parent’s help.

Important: Parents or guardians remain on-site in the designated waiting area and may be asked to help with restroom breaks.

The perfect introduction to circus arts! Kids explore a variety of circus equipment, building strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence while making friends and having fun. This multi-discipline class gives young students a taste of everything circus has to offer.

Prerequisites: None!

Students in this age group can choose from multiple class options including acrobatics, general circus, aerials, trampoline, and stunts. These classes build on foundational skills while introducing more advanced techniques, all in a supportive environment where students develop both physical abilities and confidence.

Prerequisites: Vary by class. Check our registration site for specific requirements.

Teen classes include aerial disciplines and stunts, offering focused training in specific circus skills. Students refine their technique, build strength and control, and work toward personal goals while developing leadership skills and deeper connections with their peers.

Prerequisites: Vary by class. Check our registration site for specific requirements.

Our young adult program offers aerial classes and acrobatics for serious students ready to push their limits. Whether training recreationally or considering a professional path, students work on advanced skills, develop self-efficacy, and train alongside like-minded peers in a challenging and supportive environment.

Safety is our top priority! All our coaches are trained professionals who use hands-on spotting and teach skills in clear progressions.

We require appropriate mats for all activities, maintain equipment to rigorous standards, and keep class sizes small so each student gets individual attention. Students learn proper technique from day one, and coaches can modify activities to ensure every child trains safely at their own level.

Not at all! Our beginner classes are designed for students with no prior circus experience.

Coaches meet each child where they are and help them build skills at their own pace. Circus is for everyone at NECCA—kids of all fitness levels, body types, and abilities are welcome and supported.

Yes! We offer optional performance opportunities throughout the year including our holiday show, community performances and end-of-session recitals.

Performing is never required, but it can be a wonderful way for students to celebrate their progress and share their skills. Talk to your child’s coach about upcoming opportunities.

Absolutely. Our coaches are experienced at working with children of all personalities and comfort levels. We create a supportive, encouraging atmosphere where students can challenge themselves at their own pace without pressure.

Many of our shy or anxious students find circus to be a wonderful outlet for building confidence in a playful, non-competitive environment. Let us know about your child’s needs and we’ll make sure they feel welcomed and supported.

Yes! Students enrolled in youth classes (ages 8-17) are welcome to attend Youth Open Studio, where they can practice skills they’ve learned in class under the supervision of a coach. This is a great way for kids to get extra training time and work toward their goals. Check our schedule for Youth Open Studio times.

Yes! Parents and family members are welcome to watch classes from our lobby or designated viewing areas. We find that most children focus best when parents watch from the lobby rather than standing right at the training space entrance, but you’re welcome to find the spot that works best for you and your child. Only students and staff are permitted in the training areas for safety reasons.

Financial Aid

As a part of our mission to make circus accessible to all, we provide financial aid for classes and programs! Learn more today to see if you qualify. We strongly encourage you to check this out, no matter your situation!
