Youth Circus Troupes

NECCA’s Youth Performance Troupes nurture the budding athlete, artist, and person by supporting long-term growth in circus and life skills while encouraging students to work collaboratively with their peers and providing performance opportunities.

Youth Troupe

Ages: 7 – 11
Date & Time: Thursdays, 4:00pm – 6:00pm | Plus approved session class (time varies)

Youth Troupe is intended to provide a broad education in the circus arts. It is the next step for developing circus artists who aspire to more than casual, recreational learning. Emphasis is placed on developing the fundamentals of flexibility, strength, coordination, and creativity, in addition to a broad range of circus-specific skills.

The group-training format allows students to learn collaboratively and develop the teamwork needed for ensemble performances. Youth Troupers will sign up for 1 approved recreation class per week in addition to Troupe class.

Teen and Young Adult (TAYA) Troupe

Ages: 11 – 18
Date & Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:00 – 6:00 pm

The emphasis of TAYA Troupe is on individualizing training for students who are ready to specialize in a specific apparatus or skill. Group training will continue in fundamental areas such as flexibility, strength, coordination, and performance.

TAYA Troupers must be capable of training safely without supervision and are expected to take an active role in setting their own physical and creative goals.
