Frequently Asked Questions

NECCA’s Youth Circus Camps are open to children and teens ages 3–17. Campers are grouped by age and experience to ensure safe, age-appropriate instruction.

No prior experience is required for the majority of our camps. Camps are designed for beginners through more experienced movers, with instructors adapting activities to meet each camper where they are. If there is experience required, you will find this info in the camp descriptions above and on our registration site.

Campers explore a variety of circus disciplines, which may include aerials, acrobatics, juggling, balancing, creative movement, and clowning. Specific skills vary by age group and camp type.

Safety is a top priority at NECCA! All activities are led by trained instructors, use professional equipment, and follow age-appropriate safety protocols. Campers are closely supervised at all times.

Campers are grouped primarily by age, and sometimes by experience level, to create a supportive learning environment where everyone can participate and progress comfortably.

Most camps include a casual, low-pressure sharing or performance at the end of the week so campers can show what they’ve been working on! Details vary by camp and will be shared with families in advance.

Campers should wear comfortable, athletic clothing that allows for movement. Long hair should be tied back, and jewelry should be left at home. Camp-specific details, including what to bring for snacks or lunch, will be shared before camp begins.
